It’s really annoying that it’s the default, and the setting to change it is in a really stupid place IMO, but all it takes is a little googling to figure it out. This can be changed in the Mission Control preferences.

I like my Windows 10 Lenovo Yoga 730 15” I use for work, but it’s heavy AF and it’s slower than the MacBook. That’s partly why I Hackintosh on my home system. I’m not a gamer, so that never really was an issue for me.

Probably true unless you had an iMac Pro or the new Mac Pro. You had me at “cult” and lost me at the thing about the shortcut keys. There are practical benefits to both methods, but really, it doesn’t matter. This is one of those differences between Mac and Windows that’s simply a matter of preference. If you want to cease running an application, all you have to do it Quit (cmd + Q). I’ve never encountered this scenario so I couldn’t really speak to that.

While virtual machines are convenient, some software are really just finicky and require bare metal access to the hardware they’re running on.Ĭmd + ~ switches between windows like cmd + tab switches between apps The last thing you need is an expensive paperweight.Īs for the software you claim that crashes while in a virtual machine, I recommend installing bootcamp just for that app. I’d suggest doing this when you’re not busy anymore with your thesis, as you’re using your Mac heavily right now.

Wipe your disk in disk utility then install a fresh copy of macOS. If you do decide that you need a clean install, backup your files and create a bootable macOS installer on a flash drive (There are guides around the internet).

This will enable you to decide whether you really need a clean install while enabling you to boot to your existing installation. See if the problems you’ve previously encountered (laggy performance etc) are still there. You have an option of creating another partition on your disk (backup your files first) and trying to install a fresh copy of macOS on that partition. PS: this is my MacBook, 2,7 GHz- 256 GB, 8 GB RAM Will macOS Cataline save this? Will apple wake up, or this is just marketing to make me buy a new machine? It feels strange and a bit frustrating when I see that a OS, specifically made for apple machines runs worst than a OS made for a large number of machines/brands. NO! Not at all! I love the apple ecosystem and I love my macbook, but. Well, this isn't a post to say that macOS sucks and windows is wayyy better. Navigating thru the OS, is like the same as macOS. And it is just a pain! The mac gets laggy and very very hot!Ībout the overall system performance, boot time is faster in windows (like 6/7 seconds). Sometimes I have to do some Skype calls with my professor. The same exact document, with some imagens, tables, mathematic equations, is much more fluid when scrolling, adding more images, editing the tables or the text when using windows than it is when using macOS. Well, this is when things get really interesting. Has I said before, I'm doing the master's thesis and writing the document using microsoft office.

On macOS, sometimes I have to close safari and open it again, some sites like facebook eat a LOT of RAM.

Web browsing is very smooth and fast, no lag at heavy sites. I tried to use parallels desktop to run windows 10 in a virtual machine but the sensor sends a huge amount of data that it crash the application, so, i was forced to do a bootcamp of Windows.Īfter some days using windows 10 I was really impressed how windows was so mature and stable. Im doing my master's thesis and I need to use an image sensor and some software that only runs on Windows. Well, Windows 10 runs better on my MacBook than macOS Mojave! I'm here to know your opinion about this topic.
